Hello, my name is Jessie Kelly and I am running for Vice President of UAW Local 160 in hopes of making a positive impact on the culture of this local. I have been a member of UAW Local 160 for over 14 years. I started as a housekeeper at Aramark and by the time I left Aramark in 2018 I had worked as a general helper and a Maintenace helper. I started with GM in 2015 as a temporary SSO and received my apprenticeship in 2018. I am now a journeyman skilled trades Moldmaker in the plaster shop at design. I believe my unique experience of coming up through the ranks has placed me in a position to understand the vantage point and struggles of every member in our local.

I believe we must get back to our roots of educating and empowering the membership. I believe the only true power is generated through collective action of the membership, and an educated membership is a strong membership.

I strongly advocate for complete transparency and total democracy, every chance I get. I have a strong vision of new creative ideas to increase transparency, education and communication at local 160. these ideas include but are not limited to:
- A monthly Vice presidents report
- Updates to this website of current information, campaigns, events and opportunities.
- A monthly educational flier that highlights and explains topics that impact UAW members.
- Fight to reinstate the UAW Local 160 monthly newsletter " All things 160" and podcast "Unit Gains"
